    Lon,
This is really good! I’m sorry it’s taken me so long to look at your website. There are so many names that I am familiar with. One question, the Williams/Kilgore, was that on Star Hill? Up from June Bug’s house? That is who we visited while there. He allowed us to go up that “Hill” and I use that term lightly, because it didn’t look so high from the bottom of that hill, but climbing it was quite an adventure. We found James Kilgore, Sr, wife headstone, Melinda Kilgore and their daughter Margaret, but couldn’t find James’s monument. If this is the same cemetery, did you happen to see it?
You’ve done such a great job on this. Congratulations.
    Shirley Turner (Anna Kilgore’s daughter)

      Hi Shirley,

It is so nice to hear from you.

      1) There is a Google Maps link in the article that shows exactly were the Williams / Kilgore Cemetery is located. It is “up from June Bug’s house”. It is very near were June Bug lived. But this is not “Star Hill”. Star Hill is about 2 miles due west of this hill and cemetery. June Bug did not live by Star Hill, he lived 2 miles east of Star Hill. So we are speaking of the exact same cemetery, but that cemetery is NOT on Star Hill, or at least not on the hill that I, and all the area residents, refer to as Star Hill for my entire life. If you ask anyone from the area where Star Hill is, they will direct you to the hill that US 60 goes over (between the community of Star and Wilson Creek), and that hill is about 2 miles west of the Williams / Kilgore Cemetery. This cemetery is at the community of Kilgore, the community of Star lies a bit west of Kilgore.

      2) The day I was there I did not attempt any sort of meaningful inventory of the graves, but there were some Kilgore’s buried there.

      3) I would love to speak with you a bit regarding the “Kilgore’s”.

      Enjoy! Lon

Lon, My Great Grandfather was on the 1870 Boyd County Census with your GGGrandfather William Kibbie. Looks like they took him in when his Mom died. Would love to discuss.

      Hi John,

I am not aware of William Kibbie. How am I related exactly and how are you aware of this connection? I am confused.

I just accessed the 1870 US Census record you cite with both William Kibbie and Alex Cauffield in the household of Lewis L Kibbie, but I am unsure how I am connected to William Kibbie.

      Please advise.

      Enjoy! Lon
